New material using nut shells as an alternative to chipboard: characteristics and economic viability of its industrial use

Challenge:

Our challenge is to create an alternative material to chipboard, using walnut shells. Using different sensors, we will analyse its temperature and soundproofing capacity in comparison to other commercial materials.

Teacher’s notes:

In recycling projects, the economic viability of the result is extremely important, as a product may be good but not economically viable.
